Gregory Bellatoni arrives at a mansion party, intent on meeting his love, Eliza.

​Before he can reach her, Gregory finds himself thwarted and trapped inside a mirror world  within the mansion. Inside, he encounters characters from works of art across time. Some are friendlier than others.

​Gregory must overcome obstacles, tame beasts, and make peace with his inner desires to escape this world and reach Eliza.

Gameplay

Recital of the Heart is an action-adventure game with a focus on exploration, narrative, and challenges. The combat systems encourage experimentation with  mechanics to reward the player with emergent gameplay.

  • Explore a World of Living Art - The mirror world is a vast and varied world abound with secrets around every corner. Meet a cast of characters, some recognizable and some new,  from works of art, literature, and music.
 
  • Overcome Puzzles and Challenges - Utilize the unique skills you collect while playing to traverse traps, solve puzzles, and outsmart foes.

  • Create your own Symphony - Mix and match dozens of unique Brushes, Instruments, and Tempos to bestow Gregory with powerful melee, ranged, and mobility abilities. Additional flourishes modify your abilities for even more combinations.

Inspiration

Recital of the Heart started as a dream, as many works do. This time literally, though. After an actual dream left Dante Chambers with flashes of this game in his mind for years, production of Recital of the Heart finally began. Inspired by many things, the game mirrors the ancient tale of Orpheus and Eurydice.

The story grows to encompass so much more, however. It’s a story about stories, an act of creation about creating. It pulls from poetry, music, literary works, and the sketches and paintings of the greatest to ever do it, to seek cohesion in the chaos of art. At it’s core it tells one of the oldest stories there are, of a man searching for a woman. A knight fights to save a princess, discovering what loving someone truly means. Perhaps things are never simple, however. After all, what a story is truly about…
